How do I solve a oil flow problem on my 2006 DTS?

Pulled timing chain cover and replaced the defective upper left chain's shoe kit 12559389 and the defective Tensioner 12556030. Applied some grease to the exterior of the existing chain and reassembled everything.  It appears the grease has clogged up the oil flow and I need the best advise I can get on how to solve this oil flow problem. I am 72 years old on a fixed income and am trying to keeps the cost to a minimum.

...get back in there and remove the grease....as much as you can....then run a quart of diesel of kerosene to loosen the grease, 'till it gets caught by your oil filter~....then put a new filter on there and fresh oil as indicated on your hood cowl~

Add 1 quart of diesel or kerosene to the oil. Let it sit and idle for 15 minutes.Change oil and change filter See how it does.
