I have a 2002 chrysler 300m just replaced water pump, will it be fine to just forget the thermostat??

Should be ok,but if car ran hot before the water pump change,you may need to change it,some times they will stick when over heated.

I'd do it while you've got access to it. Otherwise it is a major pain in the backside to get to - just like most of the rest of engine compartment.
