About my Dodge neon

Asked by Chris Oct 30, 2018 at 10:15 PM about the 2005 Dodge Neon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Dodge neon. The catalytic converter turns red
within 5 mins of running. I don't know ow why this would be.
When I start the vehicle it revs way up then goes back down
and idles really rough. I can't figure out why I have both these
problems or if they are related in any way. Is my cat bad? Is it
causing the high rev on start and the rough idle. I'm not sure
about it and o would rather not buy a whole bunch of parts if I
don't have to. Any answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks

something' is retarding the timing big time, putting combustion finish down the exhaust header and beyond, how about a crank sensor ? if pipes are leaking up front at the flex it could suck air and mess with the brain and front bank o2 sensor. keep looking before your floorboards are smoking
