i have a 2002 dodge grand caravan and the issue im having ( right now) is
the transmission wont shift and the shift indicator light is all lit up.. heres
how it all came about:
back in the winter the van needed a jump start, there was some sparking
when doing so and the dash lights wouldnt work ever since. just the other
day i decided to look into the dash light issue and found a 40amp bcm fuse
was blown. went and got a new one and put it in and it sparked out right
away.. ever since then the transmission wont shift.. HELP!

That is a tough one. I would really need to look at it. It makes me think that you may have removed the trans controller fuse and it did not get put back were it should have. Go over all the fuses. Make sure their good and make sure their is not any missing fuses. It the 30amp fuse blows right away. Then you have a short to ground some where. Maybe when you jumped it you melted some wires together. Check for crispy wires close to battery. Twist and move the wiring harness and listen for crunching or cracking sounds. To where the wires are Burt and hard from the heat of them burning. I hope this helps

i was also thinking there i might have shorted out the TIPM... seeing the fuse blows i might just start there and replace that.. but im not sure how the transmission is tied into the TIPM
