2001 Dodge Stratus I just came home to put the groceries away and was going to leave an hour later and the car wouldn't start. Everything else seems to work, but it won't turn over, not even click

is it in park or neutral at the shift lever? a door light may have been on and took the battery down or failing battery, try a jump start, or a quick charge,
I suspect it could be 2 things ... both require you to turn on the headlights Open the hood and with the handle of a hammer, not the hammer part (or even a large screwdriver) rap the battery terminals. If you see the headlights come on or blink... you have a loose connection that requires you to turn everything off ... remove the connection, clean it and use an inexpensive battery gel on the connection to avoid future problems ...... If nothing happens during the tapping then odds are a battery cell shorted and it needs to be replaced (not uncommon after 5 years on a battery)
OR ... 7jimmy may be on the mark with the selector being out of position
