Taking out of park makes vehicle cut off.

Asked by Backhandstar Jan 03, 2016 at 10:03 AM about the 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn my van on I have to hit the gas for it to
start. When I take it out of park the van cutts off
unless I keep my foot on the gas. It stutters if you
try to drive it. Someone has told me it could be a
catylitic converter. But would like other
suggestions.

Catilac converter would be one,but next check your fuel pressure, may be bad fuel pump or filter.
