If I buy a Saab how difficult is it to still get parts for it

very difficult because the company closed down . they say there is a company which will be making the parts for it for a few years but its very hard to believe
I don't think it is hard to believe. There is still a lot of money to be made in parts. There are tons of cars still on the road today that are no longer made/factory shut down but you can still find parts for them, though they may be after-market parts (no, they WILL be, obviously). See this article (esp. last paragraph): http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/saab-bankrupt-2011-12-19
SAAB Parts AB was not part of the bankruptcy filing and is still open and Saab Parts USA still takes orders and ships all over the US and Canada. The hard part is finding a Saab owner who is willing to part with what could be their last Saab...
Nathaniel - Wow, I did not know that! That's very helpful, thanks. That makes me feel better as I am thinking about buying a Saab (as you probably know from my question that you answered a few days ago) and knowing that parts will still be available is definitely a big relief.
Its true what Nathaniel says, Saab Parts department is not bankrup and is the only part of saab that made money. Also now Saab Car production has got a new owner, so it should be back in normal operation soon =)
You will not have any problems at all. SAAB part is now owned by Swedish state. Not NEVS. In US they have started a new company for distributing new parts for all SAABs.
It's 2017 now. Is it still possible to get Saab parts easily in the US?
Yes, I just bought a 2006 9-3 aero and parts are plentiful.
This info is very dated as of July 2018 parts are very easy to get and are priced very reasonable
Is buying a 2004 9-3 Aero worth it. 110k no problems complete car. Drives mint.
2004 aero has 169000 and is primary car in perfect shape Just picked up 2009 sport combi 56000 also in perfect condition for wife Parts are very easy to get if needed Local mechanic will work on mine For breaks inspection oil changes etc 2 dealers in 20 miles for service
Nathaniel is right. Saab Parts North America is the successor to Saab in the US and Canada. They even have a network of Service Centers that can provide service go to www.saabparts.com
Saabusaparts.com &Saab parts depot.com are my go for Saab parts! They have free ground shipping on orders and have monthly discounts at checkout too!!
yes, try http://alibaba-homepage.com/ for cheapest parts of course... do not pay too much on retailers.. Hope this helped

I'm considering buying a 2000 SAAB 9-3 hatchback from a second-owner relative who can no longer drive she's 99 now). It has 97,000 miles on it, and just a little bit of rust on the left rear wheel well. Some of the red electronics readouts on the dash have parts of the digits or letters missing. The triangular warning light is on, but I don't know how to find out what that means since there's no computer port that I can find. But it drives well, and the leather interior and exterior are still very nice since it has been garaged most of its life. Anyone have any advice about buying or walking away? Are quality parts still available now?
