1993 honda civic
hello,
i want to port and polish my heads, but its too expensive.
now, i heard a cheaper way to do this is do let the intake suck up a bunch of sand, and the sand will just burn up in the cylinders.
is this true?
also, i do i know if my civic has vtec?

sand idea does work but don't use beach sand...to course...you have to but silica sand...this is very fine sand...just rev the engine to about 2500 rpm....disconnect the hose to the power booster and suck in little amounts at a time...to much will stall the engine... do this for about 25 minutes....let clear and road test the car...feel the power difference...if little increase in power felt-re do for about 10 minutes...hope this helps
i herd... if u sitck a banna in with the sand it helps to i mean rev it at 50000000 rp ?!
yes its does work but no you shouldn't use sand what i used was some dimond sand paper now what i did with that is i put it into my blender and let it blen for a min after that what you then do is turn ur car on and slowly put it in around 4500 rpm and after that you should take a peice of brean and put it in there just to make sure that all the snad papper dust is gone and when you are all done you should have more hp
93 civic, hatch, coupe or sedan, or just check ur valve cover, sohc vtec was in the 92 to 95 sir hatch.
