Do you have any codes? Check the transmission fluid level and make sure is full. There is a shift mode solenoid in the transmission that activates/deactivates automatic from manual and vice versa; it may be bad and creating the problem. Just in case, read the owner's manual, there should be a section for troubleshooting different problems and this one may be listed
