BMW 318i electrical connector

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my bonnet open today and noticed a
connector was disconnected.  Can anyone tell me
what this is for? It is just above the water refill for
the windscreen. The one with yellow cables in top
centre of the attached photo.

For info, someone on bimmerfest has told me it is the AUC for controlling the auto recirculation sensor.
