Where does the vacuum line hose go?

Going to need more info. Vacuum is used in many cars for the power brakes, fuel regulator, emission controls, cruise control, HVAC doors and in some cars, the door locks. In the old days, vacuum controlled the distributor advance and wiper motors.
Yeah, please describe what you see. A small, 1/4" or 3/8 inch hose, black rubber? Dangling somewhere? Meantime, look for nipples that don't have anything attached, anywhere. Does the engine run smoothly? At idle especially.....or a bigger, 1/2" hose? Are you sure it is vacuum? Can you hear anything? Boy, I'm full of questions...we are pleased to try to help but like tenspeed said we have nothing to go on...
Agree with the statements above will need more info on hose location and engine type that you have. Either the N62 V8 or the Inline 6 M54.
I have the 2008 528 I , and when idling or stopped in tragic the engine shakes
