Has anyone had trouble with the dashboard caution signals like check engine, brake, abs, temp, etc being affected by cold or high altitude?

High altitude will affect the engines performance. Some areas of where people live in high altitude have to have their vehicle tuned for the high altitude. If your vehicle is tuned for to be a sea level, then going to a high altitude could turn on the check engine light. The cold does affect some sensors also.

Cold can cause all sorts of electrical problems, metal contracts and causes loose connections.
