Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has set in the drive for a year, neither started nor driven. Of course the battery is dead, so we tried to
jump it. No sign of life, no lights, no noises. Removed battery and replaced with one from a different car
(driven daily) with same results. No sign of life, no lights, no noises. No NOTHING!? It seems we should at
least get a dome light or dash lights. Nothing. What is the secret here? What am I missing???

Yes, I agree. It's got to be a bad connection somewhere. Check your battery terminals. They should be clean. Use a knife and ream out the inside of the termminals then reattach to your good battery. Also check the positive cable where it attaches to the solinoid on the inner fender, make sure that cable is tight there too. Also, check your ground or negative side cable coming from the battery to the engine. That cable should also be tight on the engine block or wherever it attaches. If a car sits for a long period of time, things like electrical connections start to corrode and electricity cannot pass thru those connections.. Clean up all your connections with some 80 grit sandpaper. then try it again. you should atleast get a domelight and dash lights if the key is on and/or door open. Let us know what happens.
