doest start wont crank over unless jump started

2005 pontiac montana does not start or crank over, headlights,radio and panel
lights go on. car starts with a booster jump keeps running good. but after i turn it
off does not start, prior to this vehicle wouldnt start but after several attempt to
turn on with key it would start that happened 3 times probably once a month now
it doesnt, where do i begin. alternator is good, battery is good.

Could be a bad alternator, neutral safety switch, make sure you have a good ground , check cable connections. try installing a battery that is know to be good.

Assuming you are jump starting by connecting cables to the positive battery terminal and a ground point on the engine block or car frame, the most likely problem is either the negative battery cable or its terminals. However, I would try a known good battery first before changing any cables or looking further. Do not assume the battery in the car is good.
