what kind of motor could i swap my 2.2 with and have it still fit?

throw a rod? just re-do the one you've got. No tellin' what surprises your new/old one has waiting for you~

Sunfire's came with the 2.2L and the 2.4L. Those would drop right in. You might be able to put a 2.2L Ecotec in there if you want to. There should be enough room. You might be able to shoehorn a V6 in there but take a bunch of measurements first..

Im looking for a k frame for my 97 gt with 2.4 and was told frame is different im assuming cuz exhaust
