Slow acceleration

I was on the highway doing about 70mph when I
just started losing speed I pulled over an turned the
car off for a min it started back up when I took off
again it wouldn't go faster than 40 I pulled over
again and the car died I had it towed that same day
as soon as it got there I tried to start it it started on
the first try I tried to take it around the block the
next day and the same thing happened

Sounds like fuel pump is weak or the filter is restricted. check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail 48PSI.OK Next check the fuel pressure regulator pull the vacuum line off make sure there no fuel dripping or in the regulator.

Can having a bad connection on my positive cable going to my battery cause those same problems
