My fulltime 4WD Subaru Operates as a front wheel drive when in reverse And rear wheel drive when in drive. How is this possible?

it shouldn't be possible unless you have a bad differential that is snaging up when it shouldn't, with the automatic you have the car should send the torque split 90% to the front and 10% to the rear when driving foreward and be split 50/50 in reverse.
