I have a 1977 ford bronco that is grounding out somewhere

I have checked the starter and all the grounds checked the solinoid also checked the distributor and am now stumped

When I turn the key all it does is click. The wires to the distributor get hot as well so it makes me think that there is a short somewhere

Still the stock distributor. Thanks for the info managed to figure it out it was a bad alternator
