truck feels like it has no ball i step on the pedal and it takes a little bit to respond what can be the problem?

before we get way into it, i need some details . mileage , how many on the truck what year , what engine , manual or auto fuel injected or carb any modifications or is it stock

its a 1999 and it has 117k v6 automatic fule injection no modifications but the guy i got it from said he put in a chip but i dont know for what
