The transmission fluid "resevior" is the pan at the bottom of the transmission. To check the level of the fluid, the transmission must be warm and the engine must be idling in park or neutral. Pull the trans fluid dipstick and it should be at the "warm" or "full" mark. If it is a manual transmission, the resevoir is still the transmission housing and the level is checked by removing the fill plug on the side of the trans ( temperature does not matter ) with the vehicle on level ground, the fluid should be at the bottom edge of the hole.
