Engine knocked and service provider denise responsibility

Asked by Charity Aug 21, 2012 at 02:46 AM about the 2006 Toyota Camry

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Engine knocked after the car received a major service and work was done on the front suspension by a Toyota specialist garage. Check engine light has always been on and they assured me its just worn out sensors. Major service was done, used car for 4 weeks, it went in for front suspension, used car for one week then engine knocks. Total time is six weeks. They keep telling me I drove car without oil. How can I prove that its there respnsibility to fix my car because I should at least received a vehicle report after service, but they claimed it was not important since they couldnt do it because engine sensors are not working.

Its going to be hard to prove that someone doing suspension work damaged your engine. Cars break, its a fact of life. If you have had the car for only 4 weeks i would suspect the place where you bought it sold you a piece of crap. How many miles are on the car? What codes were the check engine light for? Also if the garage tells you something is wrong and you decline fixing it they have no responsibility for it failing other than the direct parts they installed.
