NO. Not automatically. When you have your hand on the shifter, the O/D on/off button is right below the button to push to shift out of "Park" and with your hand on the shifter your thumb will have a natural tendency to be right on the O/D button and can very easily be pushed without you even realizing it. I have a 2006 Corolla so I am very familiar with the car.
