3S-F Camry fuel pump operation.
This is a slightly complex query. From Melbourne, Australia.
Does the fuel pump run all the time the ignition is on or is it controlled by something in the injector setup?
I've changed the head gasket etc. and I want to check the pump and piping before putting the whole lot back completely. All plugs and sockets connected. But no fuel being pumped up with ignition on.
I know that the operating current goes through a relay or two at least.
Perhaps they connect only when the engine is running?
Or perhaps fuel has to be in the feed line first - it's 'dried' out.
Whatever!
Can anyone help please?
(I have the Haynes manual.)
