does the motor of a 94 corolla fit in a 90 corolla

In 1991 The Corolla went from 6th to 7th generation, so the 1ZZ-FE 1.8L may not. That was the year ('91) they did away with carburetors. There were many different engines available in '94 that were not in '90, including the high- performance 4A-GZE supercharged (note: not turbo, but a belt-driven supercharger) but before '91 most were the 1.3L 2E. But disclaimer: I am trying to help with your question but the 1.8L just MIGHT bolt right in, but there are different electronics that you would have to deal with You might be best off finding a 1.3L 2E.

If the 90 has a 4AFE and the 94 has the 7AFE, absolutely. Even uses the same motor mounts. But as David said you'll need a wiring harness and other stuff to get the electronics in order. I heard you can run the 7A off the 4A computer..

It gave me the impression there are different bolt patterns on the block. between the 4AFE and the 7AFE. when Toyota stretched the wheelbase from 95.5 to 97 inches then. And on a side note, the '95 models sold in the US were the first aluminum blocks (and heads), 1993 in Japan only. Also josh you are correct, according to Edmunds the 7AFE will accept the 4AFE brain, BUT except in Calif where the dunderheads powers-that-be make it difficult to pass Calif emissions tests because it: quote: is "not factory and considered modified" end quote.
