My 90 died the other day. just shut off while idling and didnt start back up. engine still turns over fine but wont start.any ideas?

Sounds like your fuel pump died. Have someone turn the key to Accessory while you put your ear to the fill hole after removing the gas cap. Do you hear a humming? If not, your pump has failed. If you hear a hum, then your timing belt may have broken. Take off the distributor cap cover. Put a ratchet on the bolt that's on the inside of the harmonic balancer. Have someone slowly turn the engine over and watch the rotor on your distributor. If rotor does not turn while the other guy is manually turning the engine, then your timing belt has broken. Or your coil may have fried. Check for spark.

i have a 87 toyota 4x4 while driving it will shut off like it has no fuel after a minit it will crank back
