Question type: Shopping & Pricing

i found a 78 f150 custom for sale.  it has 130,000 miles, stock engine, rebuilt clutch, manual transmission, believed to be updated suspension, and larger tires.  now ive eye balled it, i saw one rust spot on passenger side, corner of cab towards the bottom.  its not a whole just a little eaten through, besides that i only saw one more spot.  that was the rear wheel wells were starting to crack.  seller says he used it as daily driver for 7 months, he said it runs and engine runs good.  does this sound like a solid deal? i would need to get atleast 3-4 years out of it to make it worth my while, can you see it being this reliable?

Dude, that thing is a beast! I say pick it up. Rust isn't going to stop it from running for the next couple of years but it may result in some structural problems. This "cracking", how bad is it? I wouldn't worry too much about that but get in there real good and look everywhere. Get under the truck and spend a good ten minutes or so with a headlamp or flashlight and really try to find rust problems. If it is't too bad you could always have someone weld the metal back together. The things you really want to look out for are something your foot is going to end up going through.

only way to tell is to test drive it,check all fluid levals, ask questions, why you selling only after 7 months.pic looks good.you do know it will onley get around 10 -12 MPG,if that.
