sorry I picked 87 by mistake...man those things are ugly and cheap..78 is the stuff~ funny how designs look exactly the same for the last 20 years...I can remember looking forward to the NEW models...until the Cadillac cimarron came around...oldsmobile platform...them guys, I tell ya~ now I drive a MINI cooper...kinda looks old...but wish it still had wing windows...how come they haven't had them since the early seventies...what in the world was wrong with that?....now environmental controls down to a half-degree accuracy thinks that you DO NOT need some fresh air~...from the overbearing cologne, for example~
First, clean it. They are a self-winding movement, and when working, you should hear the motor engage about every 5 minutes. The movement gets very dirty, so compressed air to clean everything out will often do the trick. If the motor is actually dead, you can send it out to have a quartz movement installed, and it will mimic the movement of the second hand.
