Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought the truck, it has many new parts plus a new computer. My gas
milage is between 4 to 6 mpg.
I have a 1993 ford f150 with a 5.0 motor.

It is probably running really rich. Check the spark plugs for black soot and check the oil for the smell of gasoline.

I checked my oil and it was very black. The truck was setting up for a year but it had new oil a few weeks ago when I bought it.

Your engine may be very dirty due to neglect. You may want to change the oil again soon. Smell the oil on the dipstick for gasoline.
