1999 S320 (88,590 miles) So I my EC light came on and the AC went out. Took It to Mercedes to and was told that I have a leak in the evaporator. I've added stop leak along with r134 a few times. It seems to last one to two weeks between charges. I was told to fix this it was going to cost me $3200!!! WTF! There has to be a cheaper way out or at least someone cheaper than Mercedes. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

the sealent sucks,i doubt your evaporator is leaking,most likely is the compressor,have the system vacumed down,to see if it holds a vac,if not you do have a leak,like said,compressor.

it vacumed down just fine. compressor kicks on and works great when there is refrigerant in the system. again it only stays blowing cold for roughly a week or so. if it is the compressor, how hard is it to replace?

not hard at all,about an hour job,you will have to vac it down before unhooking lines from compressor.
