2007 Dodge Ram 1500 wont start...

define "auction problems" n more details...money light on/off? Battery good, cranking okay? dijya check the fuse box? what size engine? was fuel pump replaced for same problem?

It was suppose to say suction problems. Sorry. Money light? Battery is good, was tested. Checked all fuses. 4.7 liter. The fuel pump was replaced because it wasn’t pumping fuel. Sorry that sounds rude, but you couldn’t even hear it working and now you can hear it priming it, if that makes sense.

Check engine soon light...auto mechanics involves frustration, a "R" rating for language n violence n new sentence structure that defies all you ever learned in Mrs. Cutchers 5 period english class. But I digress...what do you mean "suction" problems? Diju check for spark?

The check engine light has been coming on for over two years with the error code of a gas cap, we replaced it and it worked fine but still threw the warning. Suction problems: Difficult to fuel up, took 20 minutes to put 2 gallons in because it would spit up. Spark? How do I check for a spark?

Your gas tank has to breathe...it's snot. Most likely, your problem is that the evap system is not working. This is the system that sucks the gas fumes from the gas tank thru the charcoal filter into the intake of the engine to be burned. If the gas tank is not "breathing" it could cause fuel pressure problems. Leave your gas cap off (yes/it will set off the money light if it's not on now). Drive around with the gas cap off n see how she drives...but that seems to be your problem as described.

I still think the problem "filling" your gas tank is the smoking gun here, pardon the pun. If the tank is empty, then the gas pump should fill at it's max flow rate till your tank is full. The idea that it takes 20 minutes to put a coupleo' gallons in means that something is not letting the excess pressure out. In all modern cars/trux the fuel vapors during driving or fueling up are discharged thru the charcoal canister. The charcoal canister is either bad or the valves leading to/from the canister are bad/not allowing the pressure buildup to escape. It is possible this is what killed your old fuel pump and the new one is now bad...MAYBE!?!. To make an internal combustion engine run, you gotta have fuel, air, spark n compression. Mess up any of these by sending them too far outta parameters n the process stops. How much of a do it yourselfer are you when it comes to auto repair? If your not, then an auto repair shop is in order.
