74 bug fuel push rod keeps bending

Well started off by stalling when we slowed down so we replaced the dis. Cap and rotor
wires plugs starter fuel pump and filter and just put in a new carb. Now the fuel push rods
keep bending and it makes a loud tapping noise.at a loss please help!

you might have the wrong push rod in there is a short one and a long one or the plastic cone shaped insert might be broken inside
