where can i locate engine compartment side panels for a 1975 beetle this is a sheet metal replacement part

I am restoring my fathers 1975 beetle and the engine compartment sheet metal is rusted. I have searched the net and the only parts are up to 74, problem is vw changed the shape of the side panels from straight to curved.

Your probably not going to find new ones. Best bet is a Vw salvage yard.

If you're in the UK I can recommend Alan Schofield's panels. They fit first time, every time. Other places are VW Heritage and Just Kampers. They all have websites. If you're not in the UK, google VW repair panels and I'm sure you'll get a long list of suppliers in your country. Vintage veedubs are extremely popular and we all have to get our parts from somewhere!

JC Whitney has them listed once in awhile or look in "Hemming's Motor News" for what you need.
