My 84 fire bird won't turn over it just makes a clicking sound any tips?

Test battery, if o.k. check connections from battery to starter and battery ground connections, if all is good then starter or starter solenoid may be bad.

Agree. Battery first, then go deeper. "Clicking" is very common with a weak, but not dead, battery.

one click would be the starter , if it clicks more than once it would be a weak battery trying to kick in the solenoid

I’m having the same issue. So I changed the starter an the battery. And it did the same damn thing. So lm scratching my head as well. I turned the flywheel an it will roll. It just makes one clunk noise when it kicks it. I’m about to pull it down out of the way an see if it’s spinning or just clunking. Lol. Help is welcomed. Thx.
