My Subaru Outback is making a buzzing/humming noise. What could it be?

it sounds like the evap canister, It does a vacuum pressure check. The car does this occasionally
Try to check the vacuum sensor "o" ring joint for leakage. due to ageing. I tried on mine, clean the throttle body at the same time. I added sealant around the mating "o" ring. Suddenly the system went quiet and buzzy from the steering hydraulic went. Hopw you might find this helpful..enjoy
