Do I have a dead battery or electrical issues?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

had Trailblazer sitting for a bit and battery was
dead. Jumpstarted it and runs fine, no issues,
but after letting it run for almost an hour I
turned off ignition and everything is out. No
power anywhere, key stuck in ignition. Any
ideas? Is battery just completely dead or is
there an electrical issue, possibly alternator?

How old is the battery? When an older battery to goes completely dead it may not recover. I'd remove the battery, fully charge it, then let your local auto parts store load test it. If it fails the load test, replace the battery. Also check the cable connections. Make sure they're clean and tight. Put Vaseline on the battery cable ends and the battery terminals to prevent corrosion. Hope that helps! Jim

Thanks for the advice. I took it to get checked out and battery was showing only 2 volts. Just installed new battery and started with no issues
