Why is this happening

Car is getting hot...Dies while ilding...
Has all fluids it needs... Fan comes on...
Turning heater on helps...

The thermostat might be stuck shut, is the radiator getting hot as well, if not then you need to change the thermostat. If it's getting hot and the car is still overheating my might have a plugged radiator or nearly plugged. also check under the oil cap, if you see grayish slime or any sign of water you might have a blown head gasket
