My shifter is locked on Park

I have a 2008 Impala drive it to gas it up
once done went to start it up which it did
fine like usual but when to put it on drive and
it won't shift. My shifter is extremely hard it
won't let me shift. Can anyone please tell me
what can I do?

May be the shifter or linkages, may even be a worn engine/tranny mount causing shift linkage to misalign. May even be something fell in there and is making it hard to move. Won't know until you or someone else goes looking.
