2008 Jeep liberty , hesitation

It seems to jump or hesitate when I step on the gas
to get on the highway . Then again when I'm going
up a slight incline

It sounds like it is cutting out. May be a problem with the ignition system, a spark plug or wire or something. May want to take it in to a garage to have checked out.
