You'll want to talk to the dealer first. See who they suggest as a supplier for an interface that will allow you to use your nav screen to run your Ipod. Most aftermarket devices probably won't allow you to do this.
In the 2008 QX56, YES, there is an "AUX" connector that you can connect to your iPod or any MP3 with a standard UNIVERSAL headphone jack. I believe it's on the passenger side of the car; I really doubt you can control the iPod from the NAV screen of the central controls. You can probably control the songs from the steering wheel controls, but i'm not sure about that.
you cant...the qx56 is the only 2008 model without an ipod interface...just an aux jack and music box...which is the same thing as a built in ipod
MR X , Y AND Z i have a 2005 infiniti qx 56 , in order to use outside music player what you need to do is add a 3 pin cable which is available at best buy or a 2 pin cable for your dvd station located under the arm rest section besides the driver side and plug the cable into your ipod or iphone and so on easy to use and when u select DVD on your entertainment it would work an the sound is amazing from the 11 speakers :-)) enjoy the terriffic sound frmt he bose speakers :-)))))

thank u very much for ur tip!! i was going crazy traying to find a way to connect my ipod to the audio system. i have a 2006 qx56, i just try it and it work beautyfully!! once again, thank u very much !! i used the cable with the two rca jacks on one end and the earphone jack on the other. i wonder if apple makes a cable ?? perhaps i can then hook up the ipod from the usb port and control it from the car audio system. hummm!!! will see...
Nimrat- that worked perfectly. I have a 2005 Infiniti QX56 and have tried so many different audio shops and the like. I was about to have somebody hard wire a cable, which would have cost about $200. I read your message and could not believe it could be that simple. I did have to push the "mode" button on the dvd player but it worked. A $4 cable did the trick and it sounded great. Thanks for the tip.
me too... Driving a family qx56 that i was unfamiliar with and Nimrat provided the solution after 4 hrs of puzzling and one trip to Radio Shack. The "Mode" tip by ajnt007 was the final key! thanks everyone - now we have iTunes from Vegas to Madison, WI
ok but does it charge at the same time or does it eat the battery life. does any one know if there is a usb port in the 2007 qx56?
For lanavedelsabor_1, or nimrat, I have a 2006 Qx56, and don't see any access point to a dvd station under the driver's side armrest. Is there another point, or does this option only available for those with rear DVDs for the kids. I had a working PGHNi1 installed but that died long ago with the new interfaces. Trying to avoid another expensive in-dash install for a device that will die or become obsolete.

Hey I am trying to do the same setup on my 2008 QX56 but not sure about the cable. Can some post a pic of what the cable that Nimrat or the other guys are referring to that worked for them, thanks.
I have the same question as everyone else I have a 2004 Qx56 and have looked for days for a aux inport. There isn't one so Im going to try the suggestion about the 2 rca jack and see how that works.
