Adding a can of refrigerant is a short term solution. You have a leak and without fixing it, you will just be adding more cans. You can look on the top of the engine for the port, usually near the firewall on the passenger side. Follow the instructions carefully and wear eye protection and gloves.
Ok first things first, you will see a silver can follow the line till you find a nipple w a black cap, remove cap (retain) in nipple you will see what looks like a air valve keeping face away gently press see if it hisses, hissing signifies a sealed system, molecules in 134A actually leak through the rubber hose connections. If it hisses, reinstall cap, go to Wal mart and find a 134A install kit will contain a reusable hose w built in guage, on the front plastic under hood will be a yellow sticker indicating the amount of refregerant you need usually 1.4 pounds grab two 12oz cans of supertech. Remove black plastic cap again from the nipple the fill hose will only fit the low pressure side. Attach can and hose to nipple start car set a/c to max add refrigerant till compressor locks in full time you will hear it. Check gauge on hose kit should be around 40-45 middle of green in dial. Check output from vents. Place gauge in position where it can be seen inside car be mindful of moving parts should it fall, bring engine speed up to about just higher than rev and see if it stays cold, cold? Youre done. If it warms it needs more refrigerant. Gauge needs to be in green w engine under load and at idle. Hope that helps. If gauge goes into red and stays there you may need compressor and orifice tube.
