I ran into problems with a 650cc not being enough. The battery/charging system was a recall in these Suburbans, the 650 cca is not enough because of faulty modules( the rear blower module will engage the back blower even without battery not hooked up). The body control module engages even more systems with no juice. A 10 minute headlight draw after key is out of ignition, and a 4 amp draw with every engagement of any button or device is why it's dead in the morning, wipers come on by themselves, radio is glitchy, and the hum/vibration in the middle/rear of truck. The tailgate also fails under these condition,as the 16 plus amps needed to engage the gate is lost in the continuos draw. Some systems, because of the ECM/BCM voltage problems, engage as if ignition is turned to accessory, even when truck has key off and out of ignition. A 850cca battery should fix it. With the factory positive battery cable comes a recall also, copper wire to lead terminal is a bad design, and should the lead terminal should be replaced with a copper one. Also, on the wire going to alternator, are two linkable fuses that do not get replaced unknowingly causing dead batteries and electrical anomilies. The voltage sensor factory installed and recommended as OEM replacement is too sensitive, causing catastrophic electrical malfunction and misreads. Again an 850cca battery at the least, with copper terminal connectiors on positive battery cable terminals, and good fuseable links in alternator cable, should be the trick. A ECM flash, after these remedies are applied, maybe needed if any symptoms precist, for recalibrating your trucks brain. I have gotten and corrected a few Suburbans and Chevy trucks, resold them, with this formula. TSB#06162, 090903013D is body and electrical module recall, TSB 101609, PIT 4782D, TSB 090850017B, PIT 4861D, 4782D is rear heating module recall, PIT 060603011B is battery recall. All this is under Recall # 07033. Ignition switch is also defective, and recommended for upgrade to eliminate any remaining problems, if any exsists.
