You have an L98 350. They made that same engine until 1991. Then it was replaced by the LT1.

Check on crate motors. A 350 can be had with all the newer stuff added on and it will bolt right up without any modifications. Chevy has a book that will tell you if the swap will work. You may have to change a lot of electronics, mount locations, and transmission bell housing and other items to add a newer engine. It will be simplar and easier to go the way of a crate engine set up or do a rebuild and add after market items.

If you look in the "Vette" magazine coming out for February 2015, which may be on the new stands now, there is an article on putting the new LSX376B8 crate motor ( or any LS engine) in C-3 and C-4 Corvettes (see page 46). It tells you what is needed for the swap, and some of the problems that may be encountered. It also gives phone numbers and web sites to find out and order the parts necessary to up grade your older Corvette to a new Crate motor. The magazine has a silver 06 Z06 on the front cover, and 800+ HP Blackdog Speed Shop build.

Any 350 CID chevy engine will bolt in, also you can then add a electronic fuel injection system from someone like FAST to improve everyday driveability. For ease of wiring and interchangeability I would stick with a 350 CID, there are many companies that offer crate motors.
