Real progress on my '72
Not trying to dominate this group, I have not reported every detail, but if you're working on a VW Beetle, there is hope! Thursday 5-2-13 was another really productive day here. Jim and I assembled all the brake system, hooked up and adjusted the park brakes, bled the lines, put the hubs back, mounted tires and rims, AND took the VW for a spin! I feel like I am back at ground level, not in a hole, as I've felt since the car arrived. Not a drop of oil has leaked from any spot so far. Jim & I agreed to take a breather, but most likely will be back at it next week, trying to get the gas gauge to work, adjusting the hood, packing the CV joints & tweaking the carburetor. What a freind this total stranger from a few weeks ago has turned in to! Jim set foot here the first time April 16th. Took Kari for a short drive after she got off work. Feeling pretty good about this project.
