it depends on the emissions spec, cali i believe is five federal spec is three.
Nissan Maxima, 1996. V6-3000. The issue is while driving, especially before traffic light or stop sign, you slow down or pick up speed, the engine is stalled, and all warning lights are on. I need to put the shift gear back to 'P', restart the car, then you can drive as normal. The happening is usually not expected, sometimes you can drive a few dozen of miles, sometimes only a few miles. A month ago, the 'check engine' light was on, but now it automatically off. I went to have the computer check, it is showing 'knock sensor and oxygen sensor', I consulted several mechanics, including went to Nissan Dealer for diagnose, they all say these sensors are not the reason to cause your car stops on road. I have done 'tune-up'. I need experts to help me. Tks a lot
