Transmission wont select reverse

Are you getting any codes? How many miles in the car? This is a common problem with the Ford 4R44E / 4R55E transmission. In the back of the transmission there is a drum and a servo that, when reverse is activated, the servo is pushed down by fluid pressure and there is a pin that goes against the band tab. The tab is cast in the band and it tends to break, so the band can't tighten up around the drum, stop it and provide you with reverse. The transmission must be removed to fix this problem. Do not drive the car with this problem because that little tab will come loose and eventually jam one of the other bands in the transmission.
so jorge i have the same problem with my focus. how much would it cost to fix it???
