noice after turning the steering

2002 forester.manual in the morning when the car is cold it is fine, after a long
drive like an hour or so, if i slow down and i turn the steering it is a terrible noice
under the car like tack-tack-tack...... this happens with gear or with out

Your "viscous coupling" is shot. Figure about $500 and another $200 to install. No way around it unless you revert to removal and end up with just front wheel drive. It's happening because the viscous fluid is solidifying when heated, forcing the system into a sticky, fixed, crude, four wheel drive. Works ok straight, but can;t turn without crabbing, which will scrape away your rear tires quickly.

Thank you Guru, so if I change the viscous coupling will be ok? I forgot to write that my steering pump it is broken and need to be change . I don't know if this related to it.
