I have no heat put new thermosstat in it

I cant get theat to work put new thetrmosat  in it get up to 195 if sit or drive  on streets but gose down to.100 on
freeway

new stat not right! put cardboard in front of 1/2 rad till warm weather if forgotten about the car will let you know in springtime
