2001 Saturn l300 won't accelerate

Asked by Tony Feb 26, 2015 at 02:02 PM about the Saturn L300

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took a small road trip, gassed up, went home. Next day car starts/idles fine but when I
push on the gas, nothing happens. If I keep trying, I can get it to do an extremely slow
excelleration, or it will do a quick ramp, the throttle body will flap open then it bogs down
almost instantly. Codes up as u2106.

Hmm, I had an old Honda Accord that exhibited this problem all of a sudden. Turns out there was this really arcane part on the car called the "speed sensor", it's an electronic gizmo that talks to your car's computer. I would have your mechanic check that. Good luck.

Ended up being a corroded pin on the body control module. Picked up one off ebay for 40 dollars. Worked great. 3 years ago, passed car down to my son, still his daily driver.
