Question type: Maintenance & Repair

plugs spark, I can hear fuel pump,I've replaced the fuel filter, ignition module and the crankshaft sensor.I've tried starting fluid and gas and the only time it sounds like it's trying to start is when I turn the key back to the on position it pops a couple of times and dies.

Severe misfire. Have you or anyone else done any work to it at all? It sounds like a tuneup was done and the plugs are in the wrong place or two of the cylinders are missing for other reasons. Just because you have spark to one plug doesn't mean they are all good. Also even if you get spark at each of the plugs you're testing it may not be getting spark to the inside of the engine. The teeny tiny gap in the plug is actually "increased" while the engine is running. The gap doesn't physically increase but the compression of the air in the cylinder while the engine is runing puts the air molecules soo close together that it is similar to the spark jumping a one inch gap.
