I have a 2000 dodge caravan. This week it has been cold. I cleaned the battery post. If the heat is left on or the lights are left on it will not start. I turn those switches off and it starts. The clock and radio are working fine. When it turns on it runs fine. The other night I saw the gear selector lights blinking on the dash. What do you think is going on?

You have to figure out what is being left on to be draining the battery, or you have a Parasitic draw. This might help...www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRso1A0VScw

If battery terminal are original, they may just need replaced and connections tightened up. Have your battery load tested when they get weak the corrosion start to set in on the inside and terminals/wires too. Check your ground to frame from engine & battery, check the alternator connections.
